It seems to work better when I open the video site,
open the app and start the process.

I experimented and found it works to convert to MPG fine
but didn't work converting to AVI.

At least on my machine XP.

Is there a Mac equivalent out there?
3 family members with Macs that would LOVE something like this!

There is a similar extension for firefox that let's you download youtube and other sites' videos. I think it's called Video Downloader, and since firefox is multiplatform, that may work for you as well.

Last couple times I tried VD it stalled out, maybe just the wireless
connect in the motel.

Was just using BD and was informed that application hijacking had been
detected.

Hmmm, now VD doesn't seem to work.

Even deleted and reinstalled.

It stalls out. AFter I select the file type,
it stops and seems like it can not connect.
Then the Windows manager says it is not
responding. ???

Just been trying it on YouTube.

Any other good apps out there?

Looked at keepvid, seems you have to have
other software to convert and play it, looked
into that, something just didn't seem quite
right.

Any tips on what all is needed for keepvid?

Hey macx - Cape huh..

If you can get the vids to your mac saved, there is a program, ffmpegx I believe that I use on my powerbook that will convert about anything to anything. So you might take a look at that to convert to something useful.

Hmm, Rolla. My youngr daughter got recruited there few yrs ago,
then opted out (!!)

Found out that there's only 1 vid on YouTube that I can't download - I happened to see that someone else had downloaded then messed with it, so maybe it was protected differently than others so that couldn't happen?

Not a major loss on that one, anyway.
