We (my company) import about 50% of all our goods from China. All tariffs are simply transferred to the price of the goods to the consumer. In fact some of our manufacturers simply have other factories in Vietnam and do final completion of the goods there.

Ah, a voice with direct knowledge of who really pays the tariff price.

I work in an industry that found ways around the tariffs the last time, I'm sure they will again - if it happens. However, the tariffs do hurt the industry I'm in by giving an advantage to our competitors in countries where there are no tariffs on the parts needed to build our equipment.

It would take time to move manufacturing, but if costs were to actually go up by nearly 50%, you best believe that corporations would be fast tracking moves to other countries that are exempt from said tariffs.

That said, I think there is a near zero chance these alleged tariffs would ever be implemented at the proposed rates.

The tariffs didn't bring US manufacturing back to the US at all, but the CHIPS Act did.

Democrats did not try to overthrow the government, but on January 6th, Trump and Republicans did.

I don't know why this is so hard for people to understand.

Obama made fun of Trump at a white house correspondence dinner while Obama was president and Trump had only barely mentioned running. Trump is CLREARLY the kind of person who would feel absolutely humiliated being made fun of in a room full of rich and famous people by a black man. He absolutely made it his goal to undo everything Obama did as a personal grudge. It's not about politics, he genuinely just hates Obama for making fun of him. You can look this up on YouTube.

Trump was motivated to run because Obama made fun of him. Before that, he was not serious about it at all. Now, Trump is potentially facing real jail time for a bunch of different crimes. He has used his position as president and now former president to do everything he can to delay all of those trials and now he wants to be president again only so that it will be even harder for these trials to move forward. He is literally a criminal running from the law, manipulating the right because they are already so used to being lied to by everything from Fox News to the Bible; that the right is clearly the easier side for a criminal to win on.

We all saw it with our own eyes on January 6th when he tried to stay in power despite losing the election. If you think Trump did that for any other reason than to avoid being prosecuted, you clearly are so lost that you cannot even believe what your own eyes can see.
