GPU Pricing Update: Hardware Still Overpriced?

BTW, if one can score a 3080 12GB/ 3080Ti for retail (which has been possible lately) - it's all 99% of gamers will need for the next 4 years. 4K is silly for most of us; stick with 1440p and you're golden for a long time. If you're at 34" or less, 4K benefits are nearly indistinguishable.
RTX 3080 12GB MSRP $800

RTX 4070 Ti 12GB MSRP $800

A "crime" is something in which you have no choice. Inflated pricing - when it comes to hobbyist products - is a CHOICE. Too rich for your blood? Then PASS.

You didn't understand my post. I said that prices are caused by overall hyperinflatory trend which is caused by rich bankers, fund owners and similar scumbags, who are ruining the world. I didn't blame it on Nvidia or AMD directly.

Tho if I check, most likely I'll find one of the two (or both) world dominant predatory funds in the ownership structure of both Nvidia and AMD. Because they own almost everything.

Just bought "brand new" second hand Quadro M4000 for 175euro
works like a charm
replaced R270X

so, by any chance, cons and pros about this kind of swaps?

ill render some vids/3ds, no (heavy) gaming - just FTL, ROK, etc casuals

any op is welcomed

That's nothing new though, and both Nvidia and AMD are megacorps themselves. These are not tiny companies, no matter what they might try to claim. This current economic system has largely been unchanged since the 70s or so, almost all of the policies are extensions of Nixon-era economics, with Reagan going further to dismantle various social infrastructure, and Clinton further eroding what little remaining regulatory framework existed. None of these people are "good guys". Federal Reserve Chairs have all been rather equally consistent since Greenspan or earlier as well.

Is there really a point in complaining about this stuff on a tech site? Does anybody really think the worst outcome is higher priced GPUs? There are so many bigger problems that have been ignored for a half century plus, I just don't think it really matters any more. Eventually something will change but who knows if it will be better and when. No point in getting worked up over it imo.

I remember when I was younger and worked on some very high level, confidential matters and really got an inside look at these things. Being a younger man I couldn't help but leak parts of it, and my friends in finance also knew although they cautioned to be quiet. It turned out people were uninterested, and would even fight the truth. When I saw Snowden and Assange get raked over the coals I had already known that would happen by that point, the people just don't care. Not worth trying to fight, even if you could drag them to water they wouldn't drink.

Okay, that's true. All the evil in the world comes from 2 sources:
1. Really evil people, with their evil agendas, who most of the time just make fun of the general population. Whether it's mass vaccination or producing global crises, they are making fun of people.

2. Ordinary people. They are actually the worst, because they accept the crap that is thrown at them, and even defend their attackers. Not because of Stockholm syndrome, but simply because they are stupid.
