I cannot boot using safe mode

Hey everyone,
I cannot get my computer to boot in safe mode. Just keeps asking me to use the last known good configuration. Any ideas on what could cause this and how do I fix it? I'm kinda new to all this. Thanks so much!

I'm not sure I understand you correctly. Are you pressing F8 during the boot process to get the menu of what you want to boot to? Then once there are you choosing Safe Mode? Then is it hanging and not booting all the way? What is it hanging on? Are there any errors or messages when booting? Any information is still not enough information
