Is this a good computer?

I neeed some advice. I am a computer novice and want to know if this is a good system.

2.96GHz, 3MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB CPU Detail
4GB DDR2 Memory
Multi-Card Reader
640GB Hard DiskDVD Super Multi (Dual Layer)
Rear Firewire

You can define "good," by what you need it for.

I'd say that would be a good computer for multitasking word documents and surfing the web, but without a graphics card there wouldn't be anyway it would be good for gaming.
Although, you still can play online games and 2-d mmorpgs. (Such as Maple

It's fine for everyday tasks as mentioned above but even then I would consider getting an i3 530 or there are plenty of cheap AMD processors out there in that price range. The Core 2 range and DDR2 are a little outdated.

Hi there,

This laptop has plenty of RAM (4 GB) and a fast processor so if you will be using productivity tools (such as Office), surfing the web, listening to music, etc. it is definitely a great choice. The only thing that the laptop is probably not capable of is heavy gaming. What do you plan on using it for?
