Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 vs. AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX: Is the GeForce Premium Worth It?

Wtf is happening to the PC market, 2k for a video card wow
I remember when building a box cost around 2500 bucks and that got you to play the latest games
I built one today and were looking at a 5k box thats not even including the case
rough

I would never purchase a $2000 graphic card. And after looking at the difference, it is definitely not worthy the extra $1000.

I've tried amd in the past and drivers were a major issue. Every generation there seems to be issues.

With many Intel and Nvidia systems I have rock solid performance. My system doesn't turn off for weeks and weeks on end. AAA gaming the whole time, no crashes no issues my hardware works. Nothing worse than paying for to tier hardware and bc of crap software interface not being able to use it properly and consistently.
I have a 4070Ti that gives me constantly flicker monitor issues. Nvidia is terrible handling multiple monitors. So Nvidia isn't as amazing as you think. Or you are just a AMD hater not sure which but I don't care either way.

Great article.
What about VR performance and optimizations? I would like love to see a comparison between the two cards...
I look own the Vive Pro 2 and it's 5 resolution at 90 or 120fps is very demanding but it believes nvidia had better optimized drivers when they launched the cards. Is this still true today?

Cheers

You were saying? You cannot even look at the numbers up above yourself? My OC XFX XTX is 15% slower at 2160p than a 4090.

You are confusing Enthusiast with WHALE tier.

My display is a 7000$ 82 inches flagship 8K TV doing 4k 120Hz HDR and VRR with Freesync Pro, if you want to talk seriously...

Averages are useless. Who cares about rainbow six sieges and counterstrikes fortnnite etc? People buy high end GPUs to play triple A games maxed out. The difference there is lie, 50+%

Why would someone buy a high-end GPU for thrillz, when they can just use upscaling..?

Gamers buy a high-end GPU for competitive gaming and frames. Games in which you can not use upscaling and raw FPS matters to the end-user's gameplay.

Seems sus and total hilarity that Techspot can only get 200fps, while I get 300+ fps @ 1440p and over 220fps on my new 3840x1600 monitor with my XTX.

Upscaling is for single-player games where fidelity on far off object don't matter.

RDNA 4 with hardware BVH for RT can't come soon enough.

Dress it up anyway you want but RDNA 3 is a dumpster fire for RT.
Not as good as nvidia. But strangely enough cyberpunk ultra settings and ultra rt fsr quality 1440p runs with my xtx at about 60-70 fps in the heart of night city. Not 40 fps.
