Recognize cd-r

Lately,y PCRW464k47 doesn't seem to recognize my cd-r's. The dics in light blinks green for awhile and then stops. How can I tell if it's my cd-rw or my computer? Thanks. I have Windows 98.

Are you talking about blank CD-R media?
If it isn't recognising blank media, then you should go look for a firmware update.

If you can hear that the drive isn't spinning up after you insert a written disk, then it is most likely the CD-ROM drive at fault. The solution may be as simple as cleaning the lens.
