So, what is the developer's response to concerns about security? What exactly happens to our emails (how/where routed and processed) and what is done to prevent the provider from accessing personal private information? What is your obligation and capability for notifying users when there is a PPI breach?

Hotmail has provided several tools to get control of the inbox. And it works! Why can't google do this?
