The ASUS P6X58D-E and P6X58D premium? Premium cost an extra 84 bucks on the build I have on Ibuypower...just trying to save a few bucks and wanna know what I'm missing out on.

Seems like these boards have issues...
Bad slot placement (limited room)
Trouble reading RAM
no wifi
no worth the cost

...and the journey continues for the right board.

A common problem regardless of manufacturer
Trouble reading RAM.
Can't say that it's something I've heard in conjunction with either board. Just what RAM kits/manufacturers are supposedly problematic ?
Yeah, good luck with that. Here's a list of X58 boards with onboard WiFi:

no worth the cost
If you're seriously interested in getting a decently laid out board at a reasonable price (as opposed to just trashing Asus) then this would be worth looking at. Failing that, lower your sights to LGA1155 or an AM3 offering.

A regular Marco Polo. If you're looking for a perfect board that's also inexpensive I think your "journey" is likely to take somewhere between "a very very long time" and "a very very very long time". Why would a maunufacturer sell the perfect board cheaply and cannibalize sales of any enthusiast offerings?

Wasn't trying to trash anything, just trying to find the right board, price isn't too much of a concern...my build will likely be around $1300
