Which hard drive should I get.

  1. An SATA II with 16mb cache(non- Raptor) or an SATA 150 Raptor with 16mb cache. I do alot of gaming and Im about to rebuild my machine with Epox SLI board and 7900GT video. The mobo supports SATA II. The SATA II Raptors are too expensive. Newegg has an SATA II Western Digital 250GB for $79 after rebate and a 75GB Raptor with 16mb cache for $140 after rebate.

    I would go with the 250 GB. the raptors are still to expensive.

    250 definately. at worst case you can RAID it with another for only $20 more and still have more space.

    What about your old hard drive? you can possibly get a raptor and use your old hard drive for storage.

    I caved and got the Raptor. I have a Maxtor 200GB SATA drive that will be the secone Master.

    um. I thought all hard drives were for storage! ;)

    The Raptor will have 2 partitions- 1 for gaming and the other for regular use. The other drive will be for testing OS's and storing mp3s, pics and videos.
