How does the AI Assistant work?

Once you enable the AI Assistant, Spark creates a private, local index of your emails and meeting notes - all stored only on your device (Spark doesn't have access to it). When you ask the AI Assistant a question, it searches the local data to find the most relevant information. Then, to generate a helpful response, Spark securely sends a prompt and a small number of related emails to our trusted AI provider. This means only a few emails directly related to your query are accessed and processed with the help of the AI provider - not your entire inbox. Where is my email data processed?

Your emails and a history of your requests and answers are processed locally on your device. Only the emails most related to your query are processed with the help of our trusted AI provider to generate a response. These emails are stored up to 30 days on the AI provider's servers for abuse and misuse monitoring purposes and are automatically deleted after that. They are not stored on Spark's servers.
