With CrossOver, you can run many popular Windows games and programs on macOS – you can check here for compatibility. CrossOver comes with an easy to use, single click interface, which makes installing your games and apps simple and fast.
It's like running Windows on your Mac, but without Windows. No rebooting, no switching to a virtual machine, and no Windows Operating System license required.
CrossOver is the easiest way to run many Microsoft applications on your Mac without a clunky Windows emulator. CrossOver works differently. It's not an emulator. It does the work of translating Windows commands into Mac commands so that you can run Windows software as if it were designed native to Mac.
CrossOver is built on the latest versions of Wine, based on contributions from both CodeWeavers and the open-source Wine community, and then lovingly hand-crafted by Stefan Dösinger and Henri Verbeet, our very own Wine/Games connoisseurs. CrossOver aims to bring you the latest, greatest, bleeding edge improvements in Wine technology. This means that the newest games run faster and better under CrossOver than under other versions of CrossOver, or other version of free Wine, for that matter.
What's New
Good news everyone! We are very pleased to announce that Diablo IV and Overwatch are now running again on stable CrossOver 26.1 with macOS 26.5, which was released earlier this week. Previously, those games were only running on the latest CrossOver Preview builds with an imperfect fix from us, but our workaround is no longer needed starting with Tahoe 26.5.
Just to be super duper clear: both your CrossOver and macOS versions are relevant here! You need both Wine changes in CrossOver 26.1 in addition to Rosetta changes in macOS 26.5. Using earlier versions of either one will not bring you joy.
And one last note: Diablo II: Resurrected is also playable with CrossOver 26.1 + macOS 26.5 if you do not lose focus. We are currently investigating a bug where the game will crash after Command-Tab. It doesn't happen every time, but if you want to play Diablo II: Resurrected, you gotta commit and not let anything else distract you, unless you want to risk crashing.
We'll continue to provide updates on the Diablo II fix and other cool things that will land in Preview releases, so be sure to subscribe to stay informed.
