This is our review update for the Wii U, the gaming console with a screen in its controller that we've been telling you since November 2012 is not yet a must-have. Well, it finally is. The Wii U finally has enough good games that it's possible to forget some of them, and the initial gripes we had with the console are overwhelmed by what it does right.
When I first reviewed the Xbox One I found it to be an interesting, ambitious console that wasn't quite ready for prime time. At launch, was the Xbox One a must-own console? The verdict: Not yet. Now, after six months using it, I have a significantly more refined view and have spoken to countless people about their experiences. Here's where we're at.
A half-year past launch, the PlayStation 4 still feels like an overachiever. The system runs better and is improving faster than its predecessor. When I reviewed the PS4 in a hurry last year I was worried about what I'd missed but it turns out I pretty much knew enough. It's not yet a must-have but early impressions were correct, thank goodness.
The good news is that a next-gen Hitman title is definitely in the works, it just won't be developed by Square Enix Montreal. Those of you who enjoyed Hitman: Absolution will probably be excited by this news...
