2017's Best GPU in 2021: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Revisit

I also want the fastest tech that's possible (10900k @ 5.1, 4400c16 ram 1.55volt and a 3090) but im actually...using it. You know, 99% usage, not sitting there idle at 30% usage

You got your ram running at 1.55v?! What kit is it?

I have never and will never use raytracing on my 3080... why? Because all I play are ultra sweat competitive Battle Royale games with low/medium settings at 1080p. I use my 1440p display for web browsing. There are literally millions of gamers just like me. If I want story driven content I read books. Gimme that competitive crack!
Yeah, well, that's like your opinion, dude :) Most people buy premium cards to enjoy the new tech at its finest. I have my 3080Ti to play games with ray tracing, which is majestic, plus render HDR movies into TV via proper HDMI 2.1 connection. The rest of the time I do Tensorflow training. And 1080 Ti isn't good for any of that.

Play Cyberpunk in Psycho mode and then tell me that nonsense.

Ray Tracing has matured and is worth it - but as expected, it took a whole nother' generation of GPU to mature.
Surely in psycho mode with ray tracing you're playing closer to 30fps than 60, unless you're using performance dlss maybe?

Tell that to the 300 million Warzone/Fortnite/Apex Legends players that keep buying 1080p 240hz+ monitors. You'd be shocked how much money the BR fanatics spend every year on PC hardware. Look at the sales of 240hz monitors!

Never trust a bunch of lunatics, they always believe they rule the world.

Imagine if you’d chosen a Vega 64 liquid cooled over a 1080ti back in 2017. You’d feel like a complete clown now!
Imagine how ***** you would look comparing the GTX 1080 competitor against the GTX 1080 Ti lol, cause Vega 64 was meant to compete with the GTX 1080.

The Vega 64 liquid cooled edition released in August 2017, 5 months after the 1080ti released and both cost $699. The 1080 came out in May 2016 for $599.

So I would say how ***** would you look if you tried to compare the Vega 64 to a card that came out a more than year before for $100 less..

Wrong again, while it was priced similarly, but no where it was meant to compete with it, it was just a Halo product, just like those gullible nVturds that selected the GTX 1060 over the RX 580 and now they are regretting it so much huhuhu

You are deluded to claim the Vega 64 liquid cooled that released in August 2017 for $599 should be compared to the 1080 released at £599 in May 2016 when the 1080ti released 5 months prior to the Vega 64 liquid cooled for the same money.

I’m not even sure why you think they should be compared. Sounds like a fanboy fantasy…

The 1060 was released alongside the rx480, and they perform similar even today. Check gamegpu, in the last 50 games the 1060 performs about 4 - 5% better

Only if you count the fact with old games as expected, but with newer games, the GTX 1060 aged miserably.

I'm talking about the latest / newest 50 games. Actually the 1060 is even above the rx580. I mean obviously it all depends on the games tested, but just looking at the newest 50 games from gamegpu 1060 is noticeably faster than an rx 480

Not really, nVidia is not even optimizing for Turing as much as they are optimizing for Ampere, let alone Pascal. The GTX 1060 is out of steam now and barely competes with the RX 480 4GB.

Not true though. You can check gamegpu, it tests every single game. Take the last 50 games and do the averages, the 1060 performs better than the rx 480. Just facts, your opinion does not matter

GameGPU? 😂. If you are going to astroturf for Nvidia at least do a decent job at it lol

I'm not a shill of anybody, I'm just looking at the data. What's wrong with gamegpu, what benchmarks they have and you disagree with? I have a bunch of cards here, I can test whichever one you have a problem with and figure out if it's valid or not.

Hahaha I am really enjoying to see that people buy a ultra expenssive gpu without a screen capable or running it at it's paces
I have a triple 1440p setup at my home and am very happy with my Asrock Taichi 5700 XT as it runs all games I still want to play on them at full 1440p settings on ultra
All that fake 1440p screens with that nvidia joke virtual screen resolutions ....
You can not play 1440p on a 1080p screen << PERIOD >>
And really can not play 4K on a 1440P screen but all believe this fake nvidia story.
People can complain at AMD what they want but I am pretty sure they do a good job, much less power usage and almost similar performance while nvidia eats much more power to stay ahead of their rival.
I wanted the powerhouse 6900 XT but they insane hard to get and alot scalpers make it even harder to get one. So I stay at the old till market become normal again.
But I can say I am using a card which is using much less power with still very good performance
Fun fact I can sell it and even make a small profit on it as well :D
Anyway I am glad that I did not went for the Green (powerwise RED) camp
Next buy for me is for sure another AMD
