Cost Per Frame: Best Value Graphics Cards Right Now

I'm trying to even understand what you typed but I just came back from Vacation: Business Class on Emirates JFK-to-Dubai-to-Maldives so I really can't even.

Are you like trying to say something or something?

I just came back from Mars on my spaceship. You know exactly what I'm saying. You LIVE on this forum and you ALWAYS come on here to tell everyone that you have a 3090...or blah, blah, whatever the most expensive card is of the day. NOBODY CARES. I haven't been on here for over a year, but I just perused the comments section knowing you'd be on here, talking about how people that are poor can't buy one and that's the obvious only reason. Do I come on here telling everyone I bought a top of the line pontoon boat and everyone that doesn't just 'can't afford it'? You have an obvious self-esteem issue...get it checked bud.

Owners at my company have money. They have clients in several countries, Dubai being one of them, and they're constantly traveling for business. The one thing they don't do is brag about how well off they are and flaunt what they own.

Sadly, some people, like QP, just can't help themselves and feel their net worth is what makes them important and they have to let everyone else around them know how much better they are than everyone else. Just do yourself a favor and put QP on ignore, that's what I do. I forget he even posts here anymore until someone carelessly quotes him. I don't think he even posts on TPU anymore because it was the same stupid stuff there about how he has his 3090 FTW3, making it sound like everyone else was always beneath him so I blocked him there, too.

As for the topic, I wouldn't be looking to spend money on anything under a 6700XT or 3060Ti. The prices are still coming down. Just wait for a little longer, maybe 2-3 months. Once more and more rumors/leaks start coming out about Nvidia or AMD's next gen cards we could either see more of a drop in prices on the current gen or there could be a panic about low availability/high power draw/etc about the next gen and folks might gravitate back to Ampere or RDNA2 and push prices back up.

A huge majority of the truly successful people don't say it out loud.

Honestly, I wouldn't be one bit surprised if QP lives in a Barbie Dream House and drives a Big Wheel.

Wait. Are you serious? You have been on vacation and still posted to Techspot numerous times every day?

The flaw in this entire article is that GPU prices are in constant flux... and also vary tremendously from nation to nation.... what holds true for Australia might be completely backwards in Canada or the US... or the UK and France...

What is better (and Techspot has already done) is benchmarks for each card with as many games as possible... then you grab the card that makes sense to you - you just need to do some elementary math before you buy (is $20 in savings worth a 10% performance hit, etc).

To sum up... since GPU prices will be different next week (I suspect some are ALREADY different than what was used to calculate these charts), this article doesn't really work...
The point in the article that you seem to be missing follows. Yes the absolute prices are volatile, but are the relative prices? This article argues (and I agree with them) that the relative values are not that volatile. So looking at relative metrics like $/frame makes this a valid comparison since the relative prices are the ones being compared to each other.

People are talking about the absolute prices; which is irrelevant to this article. This article is a about the relative value (price) of the cards against each other. Passmark have been doing it for years with a different metric for performance or "speed". It talks to the marginal cost of ones choice in equipment, I.e. to answer the question: should I spend a few more $ for the next in line card performance? If you don't care about cost (as most serious players don't - after-all this in only worth 1 work day income to most, and cheap for 354 days of benefit); then just buy the 3090Ti - its is the highest performing card regardless of the cost.

Amazing that Techspot ( like most other commentators) have it in for the RX 6500 when its so obvious in the chart that it's pretty much the best bang for bucks. In the UK the 6600 is £309 and the 6500 is £170 which means that it's pretty neck and neck. So why slate the second ( or first equal in reality) card when there is so much poor value in all the rest of cards. So if your winge is that it has been overpriced haven't they all!! So what are you guys thinking of? This is not helpful analysis for those trying to build a system!
The best bang for the buck is dependent on the absolute max that you can spend: which the article points out. Since spending $2500 is only worth at most a days after-tax income for me; but I get 365 days use of the card: then there is no way that anything but the 3090Ti makes any sense to me. This article is talking about the people out there on a limited budget but not a very limited budget as you are. Clearly for the people out there on a very limited budget - just buy the least expensive card on this list - the frame rate still makes most games playable.

The relative prices are ALSO volatile... in some places, an AMD card is more expensive than the Nvidia and in others, it’s vice versa...

You obviously care! You posted about it!

I just sign on to this site, and I have a feeling it’s an AMD fanboy site! I hope not!

This article or “advertisement” is exactly what I mean! Nvidia make the BEST GPUs in the world! I WILL buy a 4090! When it drops, it’s mine. It’s not about the price, but the power and features are second to none. I honestly don’t see a reason to buy anything else.

There’s a variance of over 500 Euros between them! That’s a 33% difference even if using the most expensive!!!

What’s your definition of different prices?!?

And Amazon is the largest most used reseller in the world.... why WOULDN’T you use that for price comparisons?

Well known common knowledge? Provide some facts please...
"Amazon is the largest most used reseller in the world" OF WHAT? Of lots of stuff sure. NOT of PC graphics cards! Facts only please! Newegg in the US or Scan in the UK destroy the amount of Amazon graphics cards sales. And before I posted that last time, I went through and did some long boring post comparing the prices. The difference was minimal!
Show us all right now a 500 euros difference of a g card in 1 location compared to another!? Its the most ridiculous statement I've ever heard anyone here say ever. I think I'd buy them up and get erm shipped and be selling them right now.
I know times have changed a g cards plummeted. So not really fair asking to prove something that was impossible then - now.
But NEVER in history has there been a price difference that huge for any PC hardware simply because of its selling location on the planet.

Facts! LOL. Prove erm.
