Does the Nvidia App Hurt Performance? We Benchmarked It.

It honestly improved immensely. Its one thing to run from the begining with mixed.
But to go from the original review aggregate and boost it to even mixed takes some good scores.

I posted that comment on the DL boards, and it got interesting responses through the morning. Pretty much all involved the word liar.

I played the game about 7-8 months after release, and I'm playing it now, 4 years later.
You played 10 hours and got "halfway through"
That is why your opinions strike me as so humorous because you are the purest example of the classic phrase regarding not having a clue what you are talking about.

So. I ask you, what do you hate about the game now, 4 years after you put in all of 10 hours?

It is a fact that most Techland fans hate DL2.

It is a fact that main story takes 20 hours unless you suck and die all the time.

Nope. I read all recent reviews on multiple platforms. Not the highest, but but very few negatives.

It is a fact that most Techland fans hate DL2.

The truth, which is anti you, is most do NOT hate it. They used to.

What kind of wuss buys an open world game and only plays the main story?
Of course, the Techland boards agree that playing only the main game would be impossible, because you see, many main game challenges don't open up without achieving goals in side missions.

I honestly hope some folks here at TS saw this and grasped what I was doing.

So, if you dislike the game without playing it for 4 years? That's fine.
But don't pretend you know what you are talking about. You absolutely do not.

I get it, but I played through again just to check out the Breach update. Graphics noticeably better, yet a bit of a performance gain. That long drawn out opening to the game has been cut and it's not long until you end up in the main game.
The user maps are fun as hell and there is a lot of them.
They have microtransactions now, but getting cash in game hasn't changed.
It is even more difficult than DL1 but what I like is the endless swarm of zombies when fighting a horde is toned way down. We can actually clear a horde now.

I don't want to leave the impression it's a great game like the first, it's not.
But I always thought it was still good, and now it's better in my opinion.

Also, I should say I have a fondness for Zombies.
Games and movies so that may play a part in my opinion of it.

You always thought it was good so your opinion is biased... understand that for people who dislike this game, no amount of patching or updates will ever make it good for us. Because like I said nearly 3 months ago, the game is fundamentally bad.

It was after a few years I had heard good stuff in a youtube video that was listing games that were much improved with age. That's what made me try again.
I really like it now and I'm certainly not alone, though as I said earlier, I can see why some may not agree. I hope you didn't have to pay too much for since you didn't care for it.

Heh it's alright, I already had it in my library when we first talked about it. Only I had no intention to install and fire it up again.
Very few games improve with age to the point of making them worthwhile. I think one rare exception was Cyberpunk 2077 (people often cite No Man's Sky but for me it wasn't - even 10 years later it's still garbage and never delivered on most pre-launch promises).

I have played DL: The Beast on a relative's PS5 during a visit, and while I only played it for less than 2 hours, looks like it's a good game. Not even close to the greatness of DL1, but much better than DL2. Unfortunately it's more of a standalone expansion for DL2, using the same engine and sharing many mechanics, so it shares many of its flaws. Still, Castor Woods seems a much more interesting and fun map than Villedor, and the story, characters and missions seem to be much better designed. I think I might purchase it when it's on a nice sale or bundle.
