I would like to re-state to all New members, that there are FREE alternatives, than paying high costs.

Before deciding to accept any message on how you can pay to receive your passwords:
1. Read this entire thread (you are currently on) On many laptops, the passwords can be freely removed
2. Dell will supply you a password for under $40 only
3. Shop around. There are many pay for services out there, quite a few at eBay, and basically a Google search will find hundreds!

You have been informed

Also read my last post h e r e on free alternatives :)

Inspiron 1100 HD Password

Hello I need help getting the HD Password for my 1100. I checked the bios and according to the password screen it has no HD password.
Here is my HD code: 2A9K2DGGDYJ-A95B

Question? If I replace the HD with a different HD, will it still have the same PW?

Thanks in advance!!!

i have a dell inspiron 1521 bought it off ebay said it worked fine.. got it it says hard-disk #***5NK089CK-595B the system primary HDD is protected by password authntication system you cannot access data on this drive without correct password.. think you can help me out.. greatly apprecitated if anyone can

Here is one thing noticed when I looked in the BIOS. The HD reads as "NONE", and it's requiring a HD password.

If the HD is password locked, is it supposed to show up as NONE on the Bios screen?

Am I trying to beat a dead horse?

Also is there a difference between the Bios Password and the HD password? I'm thinking the HD is a software lock on the HD, and is not directly connected to the BIOS. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks in advance.

Do a search for "atapwd.zip" by alex mina. You will need to boot to DOS, via USB drive or floppy.

been searching for 2 days for the elusive dell 595B password generator, even looked to see if it could be purchased..no luck, I found one for older dells but of course that doesnt do us any good. Its looks like the pay route is the only option for the systems like the 630m I have to be unlocked, tis a sad day for me I pride myself on being able to beat the system, looks like I and many others are going to have to break down and pay the man.
If anyone finds this lil gem please post it, im sure it will help countless others.
Gluck folks

I saw a video on Youtube resetting a HD password on a Inspiron 600M. He removed the keyboard then a shield. After which he removed, something next to the fan with some type of heatsink plenum. Then powered the system on for a minute then replaced the plenum after turning it off. He then reassembled the laptop and powered it on to Windows XP. There were no detail on what exactly what he was doing, but it worked. I wish it was that easy on my 1100.

Here is the link, if it's ok to post such links here. (add the normal url prefix here)youtube.com/watch?v=qFoBuJr2l_M

I hope it helps someone.

I found it here: sluzhebka.com/utils/utils.html I've never used these HardDrive tools, and would like feedback if they remove HardDrive passwords (not 595)

It seems to work on some HDs according to rockbox.org. Unfortunately, it does not work on the Hitachi drive that came with my 1100.

Anyone else around here, just upgrade the drive to a larger one? I can get a new 2.5" HD that is 4 times the size of the original one for $60. I just want to make sure, it wont have the same password problem before I buy.

Dell bios password

I am trying to reload a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop for a friend of mine and the computer is locked because of a forgotten password. I have tried generating a master password with Latitude.exe but the one it gives me (AAU5IPLL) will not work. The Service Tag is B4K9CD1. On the bios password screen it says the computer system is B4K9CD1-595B. Is there a password generator that will work with this system. I have called Dell Support and the only way they will help me is if I pay them $59.95 for a 1 time service help since the warrenty has expired.

Thanks

BIOS Password for Latitude X300

I've just bought an X300 and I find that its BIOS is password locked. I looked for the 24c02 chip, however it seems the X300 doesn't have one. I disconnected the system battery for 48 hours but BIOS remains locked.

After 3 unsuccessful tries to enter password, the System disabled code is 14172.
I hope someone can help me with this! Otherwise it goes back to the auction house. Thank you.

@Drumstick :

Hello All,

Fantastic Forum! I just got a Dell Latitude D420 used laptop, but the BIOS is locked. I get the white and gray screen asking me for the password. I have tried contacting the Dell distributor here and it seems they cannot (won't) help me. After sifting through the posts here I don't think there's been a solution for the D420. Can anyone help with this? The service tag is #GV4T03J-595B.

Thanks in advance for any assistance and Happy Holidays to all!

Sensational; thank you drumstick!! I tried the first code and it worked first up. I then used the same code to attempt to remove the password but it did not work there. Any idea on this problem of removing the password completely? Thank you again for your help.
