calc.exe?

don't remember where on techspot i got the link for this tool, think it was dl'ed from paragon33's site, it has options to generate master passwords for even the 595B Dells as well as some Vaio and Toshiba Laptops, unfortunately it is a "trial only" program so it allows use of the 5 character (D35B?) 5 character latitudes and inspirons?

when i open the program it calls itself "Password Fixing Utility 2008.10" and when i google that name i come up with virtually no results, the question is, does anyone know anything about this program, and if so where does one get the full version, has anyone used the full version, and does it work? havent had any older laptop bios password removals so i dont know if the 5 char unlocked portion works or not.

TIA

calc.exe(Password Fixing Utility 2008.10) is a tease to try and get you to purchase the full function program. The D35B calculation has been released for some time, the 595B appears to be in the hands of dell and a few others that will only sell it. This was the site that I mentioned in an earlier post that I was even considering purchasing a program if available, youll notice under resellers it states"no more resellers due to security" thats why I said folks with non paperclip models are at the mercy of the man.
gluck to you

actually saiber77
Your post looks very similar to spam related
What country did you say you were from again. South Africa by chance?

yeah, i noticed that, and their site is really hokey too, you can get to the resellers page if you right click and look at the links listed on "view page info" but theres not much you can do from there either. wonder what the real name of the program is because ill bet there are some people out there redistributing the program on a p2p utility or something. these money grubbers had to be able to obtain the program somehow, and short of being disgruntled ex-dell technicians im not totally sure how.....

too bad, i wish i could find the program, if i ever do ill be sure to share it with people...

:suspiciou
how exactly does my post seem spam related? I apologize if i gave that impression but i am offering no links or email addresses or products of any kind, nor am i soliciting anything but information from knowledgeable people on this site.

and no im not from south africa i am from northern california and i am a computer technician with a need to know about these darned bios passwords, i just recieved a dell laptop from a customer that had been completely locked out, he was able to prove who last owned it with address, phone # and zip, etc.. but dell refused to help because it was out of warrantee, wanted to charge an arm and a leg just to run some silly little application to bypass a bios password, which led me on the hunt that brought me here.

Its been about two solid days worth of scouring google for answers, by far your site is the most helpful but it seems anyone with the 595B error and eeprom absent motherboards are screwed until Rustam comes out of retirement or a tool is taken out of the hands of these greedy opportunistic people you find on ebay and such.

I think you forgot that I can see all your details
As for why Spam
So far you mentioned Paragon's site: That closed yonks ago !
Some tool, that looks like it goes to illegal torrent sites (and doesn't work on any 595b password)
And now you've mentioned Rustam (another strange member who never posts)

Yes it looks like spam!
By the way the old D35B generator was posted here many years ago, and still available.

why does it seem that we are getting into an admin/user scrap over something that seems awfully obscure to me? what are you referring to when you tell me you can see all my details? I havent even filled out my user profile yet and there is no location or timezone filled out yet, i only signed up like yesterday or something. and i know very well that the links when searching for the program point towards garbage, as i stated in my first post as shown in this quote i stated that a google search returned virtually no results, if you do an advanced search in google it gives like 4 results and all are fake garbage torrent sites, exactly the reason i decided to ask about the program here, thinking someone might know about it.

the user gitm graciously answered my question because he apparently understood what i was asking, i think you and i have got off on the wrong foot because my intentions are purely to figure out the problems that these threads refer to, not to spam anyone.

Same as everyone else

I too need a bios password for a Dell Inspiron E1705. Service Tag#DFZYZC1, Express Service Code 29265581665. Any Help would be greatly appreciated!!

Sensational; thank you drumstick!! I tried the first code and it worked first up. I then used the same code to attempt to remove the password but it did not work there. Any idea on this problem of removing the password completely? Thank you again for your help.

Goto the Bios menu, by pressing F2 during bootup. Press Alt-P until you get to the Password menu. Then Disable any of the passwords with your current password and enter blank passwords. That should disable any password prompts during bootup.

Do a search for "atapwd.zip" by alex mina. You will need to boot to DOS, via USB drive or floppy.

Hello CodeButcher and Kimsland
thanks for the hint, but it didn't work because my Lifebook won't boot from usb, and it don't have a floppydrive.
When I boot up Lifebook E8420 , it asks for a ASCII-password.
the code is: 3215-8261-4530-4195-5594 (new code because I wasn't sure the old code still excist)

I hope somebody can help me?
Kind regards
Butler

You can boot from USB flash drives, most laptops support boot from these devices, if not you can also create a boot CD. You just have to make sure you have all the files you need on the CD, because you might not be able to access any other drives in DOS mode. I would also copy Debug.exe just in case the debug trick works on your laptop.

I used USB boot files from Dell Config. (I think the link was posted here) Then I just copied atapwd.exe to the drive.
