For all laptops that cannot be freely shorted, then here are your choices:
1 Obviously try DELL first (no need for anyone to reply to this either)
2. Confirm that all free methods, described in this (and older) threads do not work
3. Post your codes here, in the chance that someone may actually have the password for you (once only)
4. Try external means (outside TechSpot) ie eBay or search Google for any 3rd party password removal help

Please note we don't require these 3rd party links posted here (good or bad!) as TechSpot is only free service.

Dell Latitude D800

I shorted BIOS chip & now computer won't boot up. I can get into BIOS now, but pc continually restarts. I tried to boot from XP disk & safe mode, but it just restarts everytime. I had to remove video card ot get to chip.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hello again,

It's been several weeks since I last posted been doing a lot of reading different forums and researching different options but no luck is the any why around the 595b Grey screen and tried to talk to dell several times and every time they transfer me around to different agents then different departments then eventually I get hung on. Can anybody help me out??

From doing so, you are registered with them
It's guaranteed to work
And you're not supporting the money sharks, preying on the vunerable

There's many other reasons too

HELP! Dell 9400 -595B BIOS Password Fix

Hi all :)

My 9400 story (a modern day tragedy) - I have done the battery removal (left it overnight) - no joy!

Tried the PM generator, which says -595B service tags not support - No joy!

Looked on the mother board for the illusive security EEPROM chip 24C164N, and like the Phantom, is the Ghosts who walks. I can't find it probably because I don't possess an electron microscope, or I am not willing to use a saw. - No joy!

E-mailed the Guru's with no response yet (still offering sacrifices to the Gods of Tech) - No joy!

"Hell's Bells" won't help, which makes two notebooks they don't give a Rat's *** about - No joy!

I am on a count down for Christmas and am now on a search for anyone who has actually fixed the Password Problem with a Dell 9400 service tag ending in -595B , and has lived to tell the tale.

Please don't post a message like "I know a friend of a friend, who knew a friend of a friend, who did it and then posted a fuzzy picture of the Loch Nest Monster as an encore!" Or post, “I need a fix for my Lawn Mower that’s playing up!” Or say check this website out, which tells me, “All you do see, is give us your credit card number, and we’ll give you a PRIZE!”

If you did it, then spill the beans and put me out of my misery. :D

sadly hell was the only road to travel, i spent 2 hours talking to dell techs, proved ownership but they wanted 50 dollars, for out of warranty support. it took them most of the 2 hours to find the correct bypass password, but finally got both admin and hard drive passwords.......

lol one of the lower end reps tried telling me the mobo/bios was toast and i had to buy a new one, im a computer tech so i told him he was smoking too much crack and he said he would ask someone higher up, put me on hold and, voila twenty minutes later he magically had the correct pw's

post the result code after three unsuccessful tries, ill see if i can unlock it for you.

CuteLinux, I was not trying to scold you for doing something wrong, its just that the last time i tried to help someone they responded to my post by hitting the reply button rather than editing their original post, which you just did as well, also they put their email address in their post to try to expedite help from me, which is also against the rules, they also typed in all CAPS, and they were banned for it, I merely wanted to inform people of that in order to prevent anything getting in the way of the help and wanted to remind anyone reading (including yourself) of the rules, not to enforce them. I'm sorry to hear you have no hashcode generated, I'll see if I can look up info on your particular model, but in the meantime try again and see if you can catch a glimpse of a hashcode.

Thnx 4 the Reply, after typing the 3 essays the Keybpoard blocks No HashCode generated, i must switch off the Laptop off / on to type once again the 3 Tries...

N.B: i read the Rules, what's wrong with my Post?? eMail-Notification? i disable it this time... My PM don't work, i have just one post...

Please post the Code that is given at the "Enter Administrator Password" screen, it should be your service tag #GTSSZD1-XXXX, the xxxx should be 595B or hopefully D35B, if it is 595B then your best bet is to call dell and either prove ownership or do an ownership transfer as Kimsland has posted, if you look further back in the posts you will see that he has graciously posted links to dell ownership transfer as well as other helpful stuff that may fix your problem.

I really need the master password for my machine. im not the original owner so dell wont help. someone at my office thought it would be a funny joke unfortunatly he just hit a bunch of random keys as the password so now all i get is the grey and white screen. ive been reading forums for almost a week and trying everything i can find but have had no luck. if anyone here can help it would greatly appreciated.

Hey folks got another fookied system this one is an hp, after incorrect password attempts I get 00007, the next time I get 00023 this is for the HDD im able to access the bios is there a gen prog for the hp drivelock?
