pay service ????????

I recieved a private respnse recommeding a pay service. as recommended in this forum over and over i was thinking a pay service should be my absolute last resort.

Is this the way i should be looking at it or does a lot of people end up having to use on of these services?

Criscameron, I'm sorry for U! I have the same problem.... looking for master password hoping to get helped and all I got was PM message that sad "bla bla bla...paid service" - good servise!!!!!!!
People come on !!!!!!!! Why we are here????? I mean, if I would have a problem with an older version of DELLthe one that has a servise tag ending in -535B or whatever.... the one U can unlock generating a master password with latitude.exe I wouldn't ask for help in here never... kuz this information is everywhere, with hints and stuff (like how to shortcut and reset your password).
If this is all U guys do in here - just redirecting free information from NET to this forum then I'm so dissapointed... Even the misterious Rustam_ the one I found thru threads helping people sending them PM after a story is not responding anymore to any of our questions and for some reasons all threads where HE posted are closed now. So I don't know what else to say!!! Merry Christmas to all of US!!!

Hello CodeButcher and Kimsland
thanks for the hint, but it didn't work because my Lifebook won't boot from usb, and it don't have a floppydrive.
When I boot up Lifebook E8420 , it asks for a ASCII-password.
the code is: 3215-8261-4530-4195-5594 (new code because I wasn't sure the old code still excist)

I hope somebody can help me?
Kind regards
Butler

First of all... Happy Xmas everybody.

Sorry Codebutcher, but I have tried everything but it still won't boot up.
Somebody please help me?

Kind regards
Butler

HP pavilion Hash codes

Hey Everyone,

Happy christmas to you all.

Okay now down to business...

I noticed a thread a while ago in which members where able to convert bios hash codes for HP Pavilion laptops...

Been doing some work to a friends laptop, which has a BIOS password set, anyways I was unable to select the disable option in the BIOS settings, so I entered the current password, and left the new password blank...(assuming that this would disable the password!)

Anyways ever since I am unable to log onto the machine even when I try the old password or try leaving it blank. Would a blank password take the form of any keys/symbols which i could enter?

I have tried removing the system battery from the motherboard and had no luck. There is no jumper on my motherboard to reset the cmos.

My hash code is 14721.

I would appriciate any help which anyone could give in converting this!
Thanks,

If this is all U guys do in here - just redirecting free information from NET to this forum then I'm so dissapointed...
I agree
Not exactly a "technical" help thread here presently (or generally)
All information has already been posted, so that's why the linking continues
Pretty sure the only thing that is "extra" helping, is when some members do provide (possible) passwords, which is always highly appreciated (even from me, and I don't even own a laptop!)

If you did want technical help, like step #1 do this... etc. Then I'd help all the way.
But here's the ongoing issue:
I recieved a private respnse recommeding a pay service. as recommended in this forum over and over i was thinking a pay service should be my absolute last resort.

Is this the way i should be looking at it or does a lot of people end up having to use on of these services?
So what's the use of this thread?
Although anyone can pay the multitude (really hundreds) of "pay services" from just doing a quick search (outside the free TechSpot support) They post here, and get a PM from someone (unbeknowns to me) and are then, all of a sudden, not interested in being helped freely (if possible) I therefore have no option but to treat all posts as just a waste of effort in trying to help, until I have the power to remove members that are only here to make a quick buck!

By the way, I'd say I closed about 90% of those old threads (the other 10% already being closed) The member you spoke of, did help technically, but he just decided to stop, and then do the non free PM idea !!, and then decided to stop that too (at least under his name) So be it, if he doesn't want to freely help others, that's that.

I still believe this thread has the potential to be the best free password support thread on the net. Hey we could even get official Dell (and others) support on board. But the way it is presently, is just a tad short of being classed as pathetic :(
Just my end of year thoughts.

Thank You kimsland.... for sharing your thoughts... kinda helps... "cheers" a little bit.
Happy New Year!!!! folks.
P.S. talking about official Dell support and others ... it wont be any help as well, kuz they will start asking about ownership and stuff. People like me who bought their Laptops on yard sale or wherever won't be able to prove anything - and the result => wasted money, unless U're going to invest more for some stupid passwords, and chargers and .... who knows what else! So what's the reason to buy this kind of Laptop? Anyways ... just thoughts at the end of the year...
Good Luck to all of U!!!

I received a Dell Lattitude D630 which surprisingly has an Administrator password and need for it to be removed. I tried method posted here and abroad but info was rather old and closed threads. I understand there is a MasterPasswordRemover and only found software that doesn't work for the D630 595b service tag. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction i am not afraid to explode the laptop to acces any chips. Thank you. I will post the service tag number sortly as I am away from home right now.

Very nice, you decide to triple post in order to get your post total up to the required 15, even though you're only short by about 11...

re - all this password hastle

Hi all and seasons greeting to you. i think i have now read all the the 54 pages here and i am glad to see that there are still some people around who value the internet for what it was intended to be when mr berners lee made it truly world wide (although he did not create or invent it as is commonly spouted), a source of information for all to share, not just another medium to generate profits. in 1999 one of my lecturers told me somthing i've not forgotten to this day, "it will be an invaluable tool but only if you need to know WHERE to look for the right answers". Talking of which i have read all the info on the paperclip method, the generater method etc but cant find a method for the latitude d420. If anyone could suggest which method works i will gladly do the leg wor myself. (please dont laugh but i lost my access by getting piised one night and thinking it was a good idea to stop the missus using it by passwording it)
CHEERS all and keep up the good work kimsland

Thanks for your kind words
The other member up there decided to report me (of all people!) that was the crunch that did it.

Now D420 cant be unlocked with shorting method :(
So that's not ideal :suspiciou

Edit, nor can D620

Dell Passwords

It has been a while since I posted on Techspot, as my wife of 54 years passed on this summer, and I have been otherwise occupied.
I have read several of kimsland's posts and agree with his posted info, but some of his facts(while correct) are incomplete. Probably mine are also but here they are.
If you have a D810, Inspiron 9300 or commensurate other Dell Model using the same boards, I have a great deal of info and pictures on cracking BIOS Passwords (about 70 machines and boards) using the EEProm Chip shorting for those and any earlier models(EX. Inspiron 1000) Dell laptops to remove the Grey/White System/Primary PW. This message is sent using a D810 which I bought with a PW set and about 6 screws to hold it together; the techie who had worked on it finally gave up and sold it. It took me about 30 minutes to crack the Grey/White Screen PW. I have a CD that I use to crack the Admin/Configure Setup PW on those older models, and depending on the state of the Boot Order, I have a older HDD with the software transferred to it in case I get a Dell Laptop with only the HDD left enabled in the Boot Order. This will also work on some of the latest Dell models, but again ONLY on the Admin/Configure Setup PW.
Now, do not contact me if you have a newer Dell Laptop or other brand with the Grey/White PW Screen set as I can not help you. Neither can atapwd, debug, latitude. exe, Latitude Master_PW, ClearHDD, CMOSPWD /d etc, so don"t waste your time. Dell changed the EEProm Chip to a 25 Series starting with the 420 and none of the stuff I use will work. There are some folks who have a LATE password generator who can (like rustam), but unlike rustam, they are not free and so shall remain nameless in here.

@Paragon33

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

I have a Dell Inspiron 4100 that I am trying to upgrade from Win2000 to WinXP. It wouldn't let me upgrade, of course, so I formatted the HD and then rebooted. I noticed it wouldn't reboot to CD unless I changed the BIOS to reflect that and BOOM, need BIOS password. I have tried the shorting of the chip but no go on that direction, and I have tried the URL to obtain the reset program that everyone is posting from paragon, but he no longer keeps that site up.
I would really like to get this PC back to the customer in working order...Thanks In Advance...
