Bought the Radeon VII for $500 open box and I feel like it's a fairly good deal for me.

I found the radeon VII at 679$ on best buy, while the rtx 2080 founders edition (which is 8% slower than AIB models) is at 799$

Dunno about other countries, but in Canada, both cards sell for $990 at Bestbuy.... and assuming the same price, the VII is a hard pass for any sane person.

Why would anyone buy a Radeon VII for gaming, today..? (Vega is old gaming uArch.)
Vega is for business machines. AMD is no longer selling business GPUs to Gamers, they designed a new gaming uarch called RDNA. Navi is as fast as Vega64 in games and is much more efficient design.

Apparently you’ve not bothered to read the article or any of the comments... but since all you do is troll on this site I shouldn’t be too surprised.
This is marketed as a GAMING card - it’s just a bad buy since it costs the same as the 2080 and performs poorer than it.
If you can get it for substantially cheaper, than it’s a viable alternative - barely.
