Rectangle is a free and open-source application that lets you move and resize windows on macOS using keyboard shortcuts or snap areas.

Features

Plenty of shortcuts

Memorize less: repeat shortcuts to cycle through window sizes.

Pick your snap areas

Drag windows and drop them on screen edges and corners to snap. Portrait display layouts are supported, too.

What's New

  • Fixed size windows are now placed on the snap edge (this can be disabled via Terminal command).
  • There's now a toggle to remove the top gap when gaps are applied.
  • The Snap Area tab in the Settings window used to take a long time to load, now this is much faster.
  • The half-split ratio configured in the ellipsis button of the General tab is now applied to corner actions.
  • Corner resize repetitions can now be set to apply vertically rather than horizontally.
  • Window actions can now be applied in scenarios where the window id wasn't being found.
  • The green stoplight button can now be overridden as maximize.
  • The screen ordering using the screensOrderedByX Terminal command will now be set to key off of the middle of the window instead of the origin (this can be configured further via Terminal command)
  • There's now a Terminal command toggle for disabling the unsnap restore of smaller/larger commands
