Dell BIOS Password Removal

On most of the D600 series, the chip is on the bottom of the motherboard near the PCMCIA slots. If you do not see it there, it is a few inches away from the slot toward the back of the board (still on the bottom). I have eight of them and had to do the procedure to all of them, each works fine now.

Clearing HDD Password

If you know the HDD password, you can clear it in the BIOS as follows:

1. Goto the BIOS where you set the HDD password
2. Type the password you set for your HDD, then space bar, and then "enter", press "enter" again. The HDD password is now cleared.

If you don't know the HDD password, too bad, you have to shell out some money per Paragon's advice or to get it done by some specialist.

might help me i need remove Admin Password of Inspiron 5150 I dont have access to WinXP and I dont have access to Bios, this stay in Grey Screen Askin for Password Admin!

Thank's

Thanks Paragon33 for help - I managed to remove admin password by changing the system tag on my d610. Just remember to keep the svctag.exe (or rather ee-cpa.exe) file updated - the version, you send me didn't recognize the type of laptop correctly (mainly because the system was newer than the file). Fortunately, I found updated file in the link you provided in your tutorial.

There are 2 later files-EE.CPB and EE-Value-which I may have added after I originally sent you the software. As I said at the beginning of this thread, this is a work in progress, and has been added to on occasion, and probably will be again in future

I got your email, but I have been getting a ton of requests for the files. I make blanket transmissions by email attachment to a number of people at the same time, and have you marked for inclusion

Paragon,

Please include me with your next blanket transmission. I have a Cpi 266- Service Tag ZZPSQ**-595.
All i need to do is clear the Config Password to Enable the Admin/Set-up fields in my Bios. I was actually able to enable the HD password after contacting the previous owner (whhhheeeew - :haha: lucky !!!) Will your method work for me as well?
Or is there an easier way?? Any help is greatly appreciated

Got it !!!! Admin/Config/Primary Bios Passwords ALL RESET!!!!.. used the iso cd bootable version.. works great!!!!

PROPS GO TO PARAGON33 !!! :giddy:

finaly got the short chip method working on an d610. main problem was to find the chip :)
i diassembeld the whole laptop but did not find it... one day later i tried again and had success. on my mobo it was an atmel 24c024n chip.
how to find:
open the cover where the modem and the coin battery is. next to the battery can you see the main mobo (alu or magnesium?) frame. under this frame was that da*++$& :) chip... so just open the laptop on the bottom, drill a hole into the frame or break it CAREFULLY away with a gripper or pincer ...dont know the right word..german is my main language, sorry.
short pins number 3 and 7 and boot up the laptop (just a few seconds will do it, if not try some times). now admin pw is cleared (and servicetag also...)

hop that helps someone with a d610.
