TS 3.0 redesign bug reports

That's because of your ad blocker.

BTW, logged in users see less ads than the rest of users, for example in the homepage there's no top banner and no in-text ads whatsoever around the site.

That's to encourage TS readers to register and regular members not to block.

Also note we are not an ad heavy site in the first place either :)
Wow Julio, this is great. Thanks!

I just wanted to report a minor bug to you Julio: on iOS 7.1.1 (probably on all iOS versions also), I loaded up Techspot.com on both Chrome for iOS (latest) and Safari. The Chrome version loaded up instantly, but Safari took significantly longer and the status icon in the top left was continuously turning like it was still rendering something (I know it is because of the site because when I close the tab, it stops spinning and goes away). I hope you are able to diagnose the problem from my description! Thanks!

My older ad-block was not working so I installed another as you can see in the screenshot, I just forgot to disable it for this site! techspot ftw

The last couple of weeks, I haven't been able to view comments on my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1. I click on the white triangle at the bottom of the articles and it refreshes the page and loads back identically without comments. Also if I click the blue speech bubbles (usually they have a number associated with them), it doesn't do anything except refresh the page. On Safari on my desktop Mac, it loads the comments.

Also not sure what "interactions" are. I see articles saying there are 10 interactions (on the desktop for example) but clicking on that doesn't do anything. For example at the moment the AMD rumour article says there are 10 interactions and if I click on the 10 interactions link, it reloads the page and thats it. I don't understand why I would need to know there are 10 interactions if I cannot view them. Maybe they are likes or a combination of stuff using the social links but I am really in the dark :)

As previously mentioned,on my iPhone 4, when I tap on the "2" notifications, it does everything but take me to the post(s) its there for.

We've fixed a handful of bugs since my last update here, but it looks like something is off on iOS, we'll be reviewing these today. Thanks for the reports.

It seems to me like commenting on stories is broken unless you go into forum mode. I press "Post Comment" and nothing happens. Also, the profile pictures of people are black below stories. I am running Chrome 34.0.1847.131 with no adblocker enabled.

Edit: Same issue with the latest version of Firefox. BTW I am running on OS X 10.9.2.

We are unable to replicate posting issues on the iPhone or the desktop site. We've reset the JS timestamp across the site to see if this had anything to do with the problem you are having. Can you please let me know if this issue persists?

Thanks!

It works! I can now post comments without going into forum mode and see profile pictures again! Thanks a lot Julio!

Main page "Techspot" bar at the top gets smaller when going into an article. Not sure if that is intentional or not.

On my Vista laptop I just tried doing a search in here on "sleep vs hibernate" , but it never gave me any results. I tapped my enter key & also clicked the magnifying glass in the search box but nothing.

Same here, cant get it to search, I am also getting 2 search boxes, when I click in the top "What are you looking for?" it goes to the bottom one, anyone else getting that issue?

Yes, same here. I click in the top of it ,I see the cursor jump from the top to the bottom. As I said in my post, I was searching for "sleep vs hibernate". I was going to ask, but I figured I'd try to do a search to answer my own question.

Yeah I tried searching for the same thing as well as different things and yes the cursor jumps for me too, that's what I was trying to say but didn't explain it too well =/ Also I have noticed this only happens when in forum mode on the main page it functions as expected.

I don't know you mean by forum mode, but maybe its best I don't, lol :)
"EDIT" , I just found out the difference & yes, it worked for me. Thanks. :)
I'd still like to search the other way :)

Me too, I just thought I would tell you for the benefit of you and the TS staff so they can fix it!

I believe your draft reply can only be seen by you on your PC. In any case, try clicking on the "Undo" arrow to remove your draft reply.

@Archean, what mobile device are you using?

@learninmypc that's actually a feature (auto-save) so you don't lose your progress in writing a reply even if you accidentally close the tab. The data is saved locally in your browser's cache. To delete, click the small "disk" icon and then select "delete draft"

Is there a way to trigger a refresh of the draft during the event of pressing "Delete" key?

There have been a few times, I would delete text, leave the thread, and then go back days later to be greeted with the same text I thought I had deleted.

@Julio, thank you, that worked. I had to backspace to remove it, but it is gone.
@mailpup, thank you. I didn't know if it was or wasn't visible to others. We're never to old to learn. :)
