What just happened? The big surprise out of CES 2025 is that AMD hasn't fully launched new RDNA 4 GPUs at the show, instead deciding to merely "preview" the new architecture and a couple of graphics card models. As of writing, AMD has officially announced the RDNA 4 graphics architecture, Radeon RX 9070 series of GPUs, ML-powered FSR 4 upscaling, and new Ryzen 9000 X3D desktop CPUs. HDMI 2.2 to be unveiled at CES, offering higher bandwidth, resolutions, and refresh rates

Something to look forward to: CES is just a few weeks away, and it turns out that one of the many new tech products on show will be the new HDMI 2.2 standard. The next version of HDMI will offer increased bandwidth, supporting a wide range of higher resolutions and refresh rates, though you might need a new cable. The new standard could also be supported in the next generation of graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD.
