NTDEV, the creator of tiny11, has pushed Windows 11 slimming to the extreme with pico11, an experimental build that fits on a standard CD while retaining a working desktop and basic apps. It uses just 883MB of RAM in testing, but sacrifices Windows Update and servicing. The developer plans to bring pico11's aggressive trimming capabilities to tiny11 builder.

Tiny11 Builder now offers a graphical interface, making it easier to create stripped-down Windows 11 ISOs without the need for PowerShell scripts. Users can choose between Tiny11, the more aggressive Tiny11 Core, or custom removal of specific components. The latest release adds 26H2 compatibility, while retaining Turbo mode and support for resuming interrupted builds.

Tiny11 is built from Windows 11 25H2, but strips out Copilot, Teams, OneDrive, and Edge, cutting the install down to about 8GB, while still activating with a normal Windows 10 or 11 key. It's ideal for reviving an older laptop, running in a VM, or setting up a lightweight test machine.

Through debloating and improved compression Tiny11 Core manages to reduce the Windows 11 installation footprint to just 2GB, making it an ideal option for VMs and testing environments.
