What just happened? In what must be the least surprising news of the year so far, Disney+ has canceled its latest Star Wars series, The Acolyte, after just one season. The show's critic score on Rotten Tomatoes is a respectable 78%, but viewers tended to hate the series, hence its average audience score of 18%. Viewing figures have fallen since its debut, resulting in what is believed to be the least-viewed Star Wars finale ever.
In brief: There's been a backlash against streaming apps in recent years as the likes of Netflix and Disney+ raise prices and clamp down on password sharing. The deal will also see the creation of an "expansive and open games and entertainment universe" that will interoperate with Fortnite. Disney explained that consumers will be able to play, watch, shop and engage with content, characters, and stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar, and more.
A hot potato: Do you enjoy watching the ad-free version of Disney+ so much that you'd be willing to pay more? It's a decision subscribers will soon have to make as the company is increasing the price of its popular service by 27%. It's also hiking the ad-free price of Hulu. If that's not bad enough, Disney revealed it is "actively exploring ways to address account sharing."

On this occasion, it's the opening title sequence for the new Disney+ Marvel show Secret Invasion that has been generated by artificial intelligence. However, the studio behind it insists that using the tool didn't come at the cost of artists' jobs.
