Editor's take: Vinyl record sales are booming. It's hard to nail down the recent trend. Collectors trying to grow their collections, audiophiles preferring the richer sounds from analog recordings, and the sometimes fantastic album art the large discs come with all contribute to the phase. Whatever the case may be, the record industry isn't complaining.
In context: A couple of weeks ago we posted an update looking into how AMD's Zen 4 CPU launch fared and today we're back with a similar preliminar analysis, but this time looking at Intel's Raptor Lake launch. These are the two big CPU launches of 2022 and after examining some of the numbers, it's pretty clear that one release has gone a lot better than the other.
The big picture: As you know, AMD launched their new Zen 4, Ryzen 7000 processors about two weeks ago now and hopefully you've all seen our reviewsof the fourmodels. There are a number of strengths to these new parts, including performance – however, AMD is facing a bit of a hurdle since their introduction, and that is convincing people to actually buy them.
In brief: Amazon has confirmed reports from earlier this year by announcing that the platform's second major shopping event will take place on October 11 and October 12. The two-day sale will offer plenty of discounts for Prime Members and run in 15 countries, including the US.
